About choosing the right resolution

When you choose Automatic scan, you can let Microsoft PhotoDraw determine the best resolution for your image. If you have a specific use for the image, you can also select or type a resolution manually.

For example, if you plan to display your scanned image on a computer screen or as a Web graphic, you can manually type a resolution of 72 PPI. If you want to print your scanned image, you should select the resolution your printer supports. Inkjet printers, for example, print in the range of 100 to 150 PPI. Check your printer documentation for specific information.

If you choose Auto resolution, PhotoDraw will scan your image at photographic resolution. You can adjust the resolution later if you decide to publish the picture to the Web. Save a picture in GIF, JPEG, or PNG format
